Welcome to Technically Speaking AAC!
The world of AAC can be SO confusing because AAC terminology is only known by those who are already familiar with the information. Here at Technically Speaking, we aren't gatekeepers. This website was created to demystify AAC and make the information more accessible to anyone and everyone.
As you explore the website, you will hopefully find the answers to your questions: What is AAC? What does it look like? How do you access AAC? How do you implement it? Why even choose AAC? What about literacy?
Technically Speaking was founded by Brenda Robertson Del Monte. Brenda Robertson Del Monte is a Speech Language Pathologist and an assistive technology evaluator and facilitator, who has worked with people with disabilities for over 20 years. Her passion has been working with people who are not functionally verbal and use communication devices to help them communicate. She specializes in working with those with complicated bodies who have limited ways to access augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).
